Seibu developed the world’s first CNC wire Electrical Discharge
Machine (EDM) in 1972.
Since then, Seibu has combined the traditional scraping technique
of “KISAGE” with new innovational technologies to release the MM series with its high static accuracy as well as the M series with
its high rigidity and high precision in 2003.
In 2005, Seibu introduced the MP250S EDM as the compilation of Seibu’s many technical innovations.
The MP250S EDM uses wires of 0.05mm in diameter for fine cutting
and has perfect temperature control as well as upgraded corner
control for cutting precision greater than that of any other conventional ultra-precision machine. And, the automatic wire
feeding (AWF) of thin wires helps increase productivity.
Human hair is 80μm~100μm, but it is possible to connect thinner wire of 50μm to the start hole of 80μm.
The connection performance is more than 90%!
The newest M3A power supply has accomplished the best surface
finish Ry0.49μm. We are making technological improvement for
best surface finish.
Temperature-controlled oil is circulated throughout the entire
MP250S EDM to keep the machine at a constant temperature.
This temperature control protects the machine against any changes in the external air temperature to ensure stable conditions for
cutting.
